My name is Lisa Butler and I'm the new School Counselor for Oneonta High School. I’ve been a professional School Counselor since 2010. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling both from the University of Montevallo. I also have an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Alabama. I have worked in the Blount County and Etowah County School systems since becoming a school counselor. Prior to that I worked in mental health counseling and the social services industry. I am married to Ben Butler and have 2 children, Ryan and Taylor and 1 grandson, Crue. I love spending time with my family. I love to grow professionally through active participation in professional development as well as serving on 2 counseling boards. I am the historian of the Alabama School Counselor Association and the Immediate Past  President  of Alabama Counselor Association-Chapter II.  I believe in maintaining a positive mindset and creating an atmosphere of responsibility, hard work and success.
